DIVINE INTERVENTION
Just a little note for inquirers: Although introduced to God at a very young age I was not raised in church. While I believed in God Almighty growing up I did not know Him personally. God intervened in my life one day when I wasn’t even looking for Him. While at the crossroads of life I made a decision as to which route I would take. Although I did not formulate these words, I had decided along the lines of, to quote myself, “the heck with being Mr. good guy. I’m going for it.” I was finally going to remove all restraints from my life and just go for it which for me meant getting myself a couple of suits and going out into the night life or what might be called the fast living zone or to settle for the what the world had to offer… ______ PAUSE: ( THINK ABOUT THIS FOR A WHILE: Everything in this world is transitory, temporary, soon passing way. “All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. .. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:6-8 (NIV) “It is worthless to have the whole world if they lose their souls. They could never pay enough to buy back their souls.” Mark 8:36-37 (NCV) The devil is very deceptive. He promises you everything only to end up taking everything from you if you allow him entrance into your life and while he has some degree of ability to affect ones’ thought life he mostly uses people to get to others. So whether it’s the person trying to get you to do drugs, have sex, or any other thing that is harmful to your person you better know what’s up. Look at this interaction between the devil and Jesus. –“Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.” Matthew 4:8-10 (NKJV) If Jesus had succumbed to this temptation God’s plan for the salvation of all mankind would have failed. But thank God that He didn’t -. IT IS NOT A SIN TO BE TEMPTED IT BECOMES SIN IF YOU YIELD TO IT. There is nothing wrong with having a little bling as long as the bling doesn‘t have you. But so many people put their trust in stuff and they teach their children values that are void of God. They make a life time of acquiring things only to spend eternity in hell. While it is God’s plan for us to be prosperous He must be first in our lives. ______ …) RETURNING: When I made this decision, suddenly, a Presence so powerful, but yet so gentle(and full of overwhelming love) came into my room and there I was on my knees in prayer. While I don’t remember exactly what I said in prayer(Some people think you have to do a whole lot of things, some sort of penance or making up for your bad deeds, before you can even think about approaching God. The truth of the matter, however, is that you can come just as you are before The True and Living God and He will accept just as you are. When you approach Him with a honest desire for change you will find that He loves you too much to leave you in whatever condition you are in and He is more than willing to accept you as His own. He loves you!) I do remember getting up from this prayer and having an incredible desire to do good… Although Jesus had entered my room that day, coming to know and accept Him was a process… By studying His Word(the Bible), learning from teachers who are filled with the Holy Spirit, and through prayer…, God has both enlightened me to who He is and to His mighty power . He wants to do the same for everyone. He is no respecter of persons. What He does for one He will do for another. But you must be willing.
As you proceed in your desire to know God you must realize that it is impossible for the carnal(natural) mind to understand the completeness of God because with God there is always more. More love, more wisdom, more care and concern… It just goes on and on. The nature of God must be revealed to our spirits by His Holy Spirit.
“Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ .” Romans 8:8-9 (NIV)
Note: When one is not ‘spiritually born again’ that person is ruled by the sinful nature. When one does become ‘spiritually born again’ that person is then led by the Holy Spirit of God.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
Note: While it says workman – this also means women, boys, and girls. No one is excluded from God’s plan of salvation.
“…You have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 2:15 (NIV)
(* See more on Baal)
For more on the Baal(false god, idol) look up the account of Elijah in 1 Kings Chapter 19. He thought that he was the last one alive who was serving God only to learn that He(God) had reserved seven thousand other saints who had not turned from His counsel. God always has people who are truly serving Him. I adjure all who read this to turn to Jesus, repent of their sins, and serve God almighty while there is still time.
Please begin studying the Bible. It is the revealed Will of God.
Jesus loves you.
