UNLIMITED POWER
We Must Pray and We Must Go To Church
We are so much closer to the return of Christ than many people realize. And the scriptures say, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25(NIV) However, we must under- stand that many people think that the church is the building down the street where we meet on Sundays. While the Bible indicates the importance of going to church, however beautiful the building we meet in may be, unless we, the people of God, are present it is just that. It is nothing more than a building. It is essentially the place where we meet to have service. You see, God, does not dwell in buildings made by men’s hands. He dwells in the hearts of the people who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. So we who have become ‘born again’ are the church. It is extremely important that we attend church regularly, but we have to know that even when we are at home, in the workplace, or in the grocery store, that we are still the church. Being ‘the church of Jesus Christ’ is not like a piece of clothing that we put on and take off. We are the church wherever we are. There is a difference between religion and relationship. Religion says that when I go into the church building I can pray, but relationship lets you know that you can pray anywhere. Once you receive Christ as your personal Lord and Savior God is with you wherever you go. So we can pray anywhere. —–It is kind of like a math class where you may learn a new formula for a particular type of math. It seems so exciting that an otherwise complex problem is made so simple because you have learned the formula. You leave class that day so excited about how well you will do on the next math test. But if you decide to go and hang with friends and refuse to take the time to study this new formula at home it would be a poor choice. If you don’t open the math book and/or accompany- ing notes and work at mastering whatever the teaching was that day, when the test day finally arrives you are lost because you did not take the time to study and familiarize yourself with the material. While you cannot compare God to some kind of formula it is important to understand the following. We should go to church regularly because this is where we are to receive our spiritual food but the message on Sunday cannot sustain us for the rest of the week. In fact, it has been suggested that the message we receive in church on Sunday should be more as a supplement than the main meal(spiritual food) we eat. That is to say that we should be reading our Bibles and praying at home or wherever we may be regularly(Of course this does excuse us from working a job, running a business, taking care of our children, and tending to other things but we need to establish discipline in our lives to make time to accomplish the afore- mentioned. Indeed, spending time with God will help us to be better at everything we do. For example, we can arise an hour earlier to read the Bible and pray before beginning the various tasks of the day. Imagine if we just fed our natural bodies food once a week. We would be mighty hungry, even famished, on such a meager amount of much needed nourishment. As important as food is to the natural body so much more is God’s word to our spirits. NOTE: —-People who don’t know Christ personally and who don’t have an understanding of the spiritual realm cannot have a true understanding of how the world operates. They don’t understand that before something happens in the natural it first happens in the spiritual realm. (Before Adam and Eve sinned and were deceived by Satan, he (Satan) had first sinned and led a rebellion in heaven against God Almighty. After being cast out of heaven and taking his place on earth he actually proceeded (and continues to this day, and will continue until he is finally cast into the lake of fire) to attempt to permanently destroy mankind’s relationship with God. In fact the evil perpetuate and suffering perpetuated throughout the world has it’s origin in Satan. Before he led the rebellion in heaven and before he conceived and was successful in causing the fall of mankind there was no sickness, crime, greediness, death or any other form of corruption in the world yet. (You must know that because of Jesus’ substitutionary death on the Cross (for the sin all people), and His resurrection on the third day, that relationship(s) with God can be restored. I urge you to ask Jesus to forgive you for all of your sins, to repent (turn away from a life of sin) and accept Christ into your heart as your Lord and Savior. Don’t worry about not being able to succeed as a Christian. God, Himself, will help you. I f you prayed that prayer call 1-800-759-0700 and tell a prayer counselor that you have received Christ into your heart. Ask them to send you some helpful literature on how to get started with this new life. You will find that God loves you so much and He will be with you and guide through this life. We will also spend eternity with Him. For God himself says, “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). There is so much more to be said but in the interest of both time and space let’s give a small example of what people who operate according to natural understanding (People who have not yet had a ‘born again’ (those who have not experienced a spiritual rebirth) and only operate with that natural (finite) mind (which is to say with carnal thinking) versus those who have been ‘born again’ and have been enabled by God to see into the supernatural or spiritual realm. Look at this example: In the natural, people see the powerful weightlifter as the person they would rather be like than a little old lady. But in the spiritual realm, if that lady is a born again believer, who is fully obedient to God’s call on her life to study the word of God and pray without ceasing, then demons see her as much more powerful than the weightlifter and rightly so. In the natural he may be well on his way to breaking sports records but he may also be wrapped up into various types of sin. He could have problems with pride, arrogance, sexual promiscuity, and a host of other things. So as a slave to sin he can do nothing to halt the activity of lying demons or drug demons which have been assigned by Satan to destroy neighborhoods. He can do nothing to point a young person to the way of salvation, which is the Cross, because he has no clue himself. On the other hand this woman of God can set demons to flight through the power of prayer. And when she gets connected with other Christian Prayer Warriors who are in one mind and one spirit the power which they possess multiplies exponentially. The natural world does not understand how to deal with spiritual problems. For example, young people in a certain neighborhood may begin consuming overwhelming amounts of drugs, sexually deviant behavoir may become rampant, witch craft or some other activities may arise. Unless people come to the True and Living God they will be at the mercy of Satan and demonic powers under his control. Whether or not you are willing to accept it there is a battle raging in the spiritual realm for the souls of people. While Jesus has already defeated Satan at the Cross God still reserves the individual rights of people to accept salvation. God does not impose His will on us. He gives to right to choose salvation or to be eternally seperated from Him. You’d better believe Satan would rather have the latter.
When ‘born again’ Christians realize the power that we possess in prayer we are going to see things unimaginable to the human mind begin to happen more and more. So we must open the Bible daily to receive our spiritual food. This will strengthen our spirits as we grow in our relationship with God. The Bible is our main source for learning about God and how He works in the affairs of people. Prayer accompanied with bible reading is off the chart, in terms of the things we can accomplish for the Kingdom of God.
Jesus loves you.
